What is up with that?
So since living here in Austin I’ve noticed something…when you are walking or jogging and you pass someone…people do not say hello, smile, or acknowledge your presence for that matter. What is up with that? I walk pretty much everyday in a really nice neighborhood, and where I come from when you pass someone you say hello or smile. Since living here I have noticed that it is not the case. So now, I have to admit I get a little anxious when I see someone coming… I start watching and seeing, ok, are they going to acknowledge me, because if so I am going to of course say “Good morning” or “Hello” or atleast smile…and I always feel so awkward because sometimes I am smiling at these people and they never even look. Now I totally understand if you are the person that is on a run and you are extremely focused and have to keep your eye on the prize. But for the people that are just out for a leisurely walk, not listening to an ipod, I mean come on… I’m pushing a really cute kid in a stroller, who wouldn’t want to just atleast say hi to her because she sure is saying hello. She waves at everyone and has started say “Hiii” (it is so cute)! So anyways…I just think its weird! So for now…I’ll just keep smiling and saying hello!
I need to post some pics from Halloween, Iz was a butterfly. I took one pic and my camera died, so I need get some from family members!
But I just love this pic of my mom, sis, Izzy, and I from her birthday! It just makes me smile! I love them all so much!

I would love to see you two on a walk!! And I would say hi!
love you!!
Oh no, that is so awkward! People are like that in Dallas, too! Even out and about running errands, though. When I was a nanny and the little girl was a little older than Izzy she would say “Hi” to everyone and wouldn’t stop until someone would respond. I was always so sad for her because people didn’t say it back a lot of the time! So weird and definitely not like Little Rock!
what’s up with those Austin folks not waving to my Grandbaby girl!!
Keep smiling and waving.. someone may really need it and you make their day! Love, Grammie
Okay so this is my first time to comment on your blog… yay! It just got me so fired up… I can’t believe they don’t say hi to you? My neighbor is scared of me for this reason too, but I keep saying hi and waving and acting like I’m going to approach her and she runs inside her garage… ha! My, my… where did some people learn their manners! Hmph! Love the sweet pic of the girl by the way!
